Subject: Evolution & Its Enemies
On a recent road trip through California's central valley, I was scanning the radio dial for something in my native english and came across one of the local fundie stations discussing how science is now proving that creationism nad the "young earth" are the true explanation for the universe and pronouncing evolution dead.
Being naturally curious about these things I listened in a while longer. Unfortunately it was right at the end of the show and I didn't hear much more than the end of a diatribe and the obligatory "send money and receive a copy of my book...". Shortly after they added that first time visitors could get a FREE copy just by registering. So, in the interest of keeping informed, I signed on as soon as I got home and got my free copy of "The Collapse of Evolution" by Scott M Huse and started reading.
For those interested in learning more about the anti-evolution crowd and what they are up to, I recommend taking a look at the book and their website (www.truthsthattransform.org). The book actually makes a number of good points and observations on the creation debate. The fatal flaw in the whole argument is their assumption that because there is disagreement and discussion within science on the nature and origins of life, that science has no clue as to the origins of life. They fail to recognize that the disagreement, discussion and integration of new ideas and evidence into new or updated theories is the strength of science, not it's weakness.
